Breaking down carbon pricing

Sustainability is a global work-in-progress. Businesses and governments are working closely to find newer ways to tackle climate change and make industry more sustainable. Carbon Pricing is one such initiative adopted at the recent Paris Climate Change Conference, and global corporations are taking the lead in voluntarily assigning a price to each unit of carbon they generate.

Pioneering impact. Leading change.

The Mahindra Group – one of India’s largest conglomerates – became one of the earliest adopters of Carbon Pricing. The Group’s vast business interests span automotive, financial services, information technology, hospitality and real estate, and it is known for leading the way on sustainability for well over a decade. When Mahindra became a part of the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, there existed very little awareness or information about carbon pricing
as a practice.

Designing with intelligence & creativity

AICL worked with the Sustainability Team at Mahindra to create an easy-to-understand explainer on carbon pricing for internal and select external audiences. Our role was to help build context and drive home the importance of carbon-neutrality, before diving into the basics of carbon pricing and how it works.
Our approach was largely visual, but driven by intensive research, given the novelty of the subject. Infographics were designed to convey the key messages and strong copy articulated the concept in bite-sized terms. The outcome was a succinct commentary that covered all the relevant points and encouraged recipients to think about adopting it in their businesses/operations.

"Our maiden Carbon Pricing Primer is a wonderfully produced document with simplified information, presented with impactful graphics. AICL's team converted our brief into a useful document that helps both the novice and the expert on a subject not easily understood."
