Every cog in the wheel matters

Marico began its journey just before the onset of economic liberalisation in India. From its humble beginning at Masjid Bunder in Mumbai where Saffola and Parachute were born, the Company has come a long way. Today, Marico is one of India’s leading consumer products companies operating in the beauty and wellness space, in addition to having a presence in 25 countries across the emerging markets of Asia and Africa.

Empowering people

Marico calls its people ‘members’ and believes that the Company’s sustainable growth story rests on its empowering work culture. The members are encouraged to take complete ownership and make a difference to the entire business ecosystem. So, simply put, the idea was to highlight the importance of every cog in the wheel that keeps it rolling.

Connecting across the board

Keeping this in mind, we opted for a clean yet colourful approach to storytelling, titled ‘Our People, Our Pride’, that visually celebrates the diversity of individuals and ideas at Marico. We also highlighted various unique people practices like Bottoms-up – a reverse mentoring initiative that enriches senior members with contemporary skills and young members with leadership skills. Pictures of members were used generously in every section of the report while outlining the value people add to the organisation. The outcome was a smart and all-inclusive report that connected with the senior members and millennials alike.
