Unifying through communication

The Mahindra group, being one of India’s most diversified conglomerates, has operations spanning the automotive, financial services and IT industries to the hospitality and rural prosperity sectors. The group has presence across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East & Africa, Europe, and the Americas employing people from diverse nationalities, background, and culture.

To facilitate seamless interactions across divisions and geographies, and build a closely-knit ecosystem, the Mahindra group needed a unified platform for all its employees. A quarterly newsletter had been in place for some time. So, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, we proposed to leverage the existing platform by reimagining the newsletter as a powerful, interactive and contemporary medium. We also needed to ensure that it clearly communicated the vast expanse of the group’s activities.

From the masthead to the internal layout, ‘Mahindra Everyday’ was redesigned using an efficient grid of news snippets comprising smart texts and actual images, which created an instant connect and facilitated interactions beyond boundaries and businesses. The newsletter also helped bring out stories about passion beyond profession – from a singing CEO to a globe-trotting expat – while inspiring others to look beyond the default silos of work.

We also rolled out the digital version, which not only facilitated real-time interactions, but also create a more immersive and rich media experience. Today, every Mahindra employee looks forward to the publication of the newsletter every quarter.
