Senior Graphic Designer

AICL Communications is looking for senior and middle-weight graphic designers to help devise innovative, creative communication solutions across the print and digital domains. They will either work autonomously or lead teams in decoding a client brief, defining a best-fit approach and execute the idea flawlessly. We expect our designers to understand the art of visual storytelling, and have the ability to transform complex information, text and data into engaging, relevant and unique pieces of work. These include annual and sustainability reports, films, websites and other internal/ external communication solutions directed at specific stakeholders. AICL works for some of India’s biggest corporate brands, and expects designers to deliver a globally relevant quality fully aligned to the clients’ expectations.

A proven track record of exceptional creativity, experience of working on diverse industries and projects, proficiency in design software and an ability to work seamlessly as part of a team are attributes that we value.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Decoding a brief, exploring and conceptualising a design solution, including drawing, sketching, research and presentation
  • Championing a design project from concept to final production. These will include annual and sustainability reports, internal communication and brand communication solutions
  • Staying true to the brief, client personality as well as expectations
  • Working with a cross-functional project team, guiding and mentoring the junior talent pool
  • Liaising with service providers such as printers, HTML developers, film and photography crew
  • Attending client meetings to understand requirements, as well as present ideas
  • Collating and sharing best-practices with the team
  • Organising project work and files, managing deadlines and ensuring seamless delivery

Skills & competencies

  • Ability to ideate and arrive at original and relevant solutions for design, while remaining true to the brief
  • Versatile in applying creative inputs to diverse channels
  • Keen eye for detail and a sophisticated aesthetic sense
  • Knowledge of editorial and information design is a must. Prior experience with handling long copy is a definite positive
  • Skilled at typography, layouts and colour sensibility
  • Skilled at creating layouts, infographics and working with design grids
  • Multi-disciplinary capabilities across animation and digital will be viewed positively
  • Interpersonal skills. Relevant in engaging with the client and internal team
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time, and performing well in high- pressure situations to deliver quality projects, on time
  • Awareness of global design developments, and the attitude of a learner
  • Exploring creative growth by working outside of defined expertise area or comfort zone
  • Strong presentation and influencing abilities

  • Strong articulation and presentation skills (verbal and written)

Qualifications & experience

  • Education: Design degree or relevant design qualification
  • 4 – 8 years experience in a branding/ design agency or publication house with high design intervention
  • Proficiency in Adobe creative software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat). Working knowledge of After Effects is desirable but not essential
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office softwares, especially powerpoint
  • Experience in animation and web design will be preferred
  • Experienced at working with large clients on diverse projects
