Unified messaging of diversity

The Dainik Bhaskar, owned by DB Corp, is the world’s fourth and India’s largest circulated daily newspaper. The Company has expanded its presence across Tier II and Tier III cities in 14 states and holds a strong leadership position in most of the markets it operates in. DB Corp has consistently created value for stakeholders with an impressive track record of growth.

Markets that matter

We were approached by DB Corp to design distinct sales kits for each of the six states and a national rate card that reflected its presence in these states. Although the depiction showcased each state as an independent unit, it came together to reinforce the Group’s leadership position.

Design amplifying diversity

We selected ‘Weaving a pattern of leadership’ as the overarching theme, with the design inspiration stemming from the cultural diversity of each of the regions in which it operates – Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Bihar-Jharkhand, Punjab-Haryana-Chandigarh and Gujarat. The visual narrative was an aesthetic language built through native folk-art forms. We used initials of each state's name written in the Devanagari script to devise a graphic for the combined entity. The design language, interspersed with local data, maps and images, reflected the multitude of cultural diversity in which DB Corp operates.
