Senior People Manager Mumbai

As a rapidly growing organisation, AICL has put together a team of very talented but diverse individuals. We now seek a more systemic approach to recruitment, onboarding, training and retention. We are also looking to fine-tune and streamline our organisational structure, people policies, HR automation, compensation and benefits structure and performance review parameters. We are looking for a senior HR professional who can do just that, by devising and executing a long-term plan for our people, in line with the overall strategic objectives. Roles & responsibilities

  • Focus on strategic HR outcomes to meet the needs of AICL’s future
  • Establish AICL as an organisation that possesses a unique performance and collaboration culture, and ensure all team members are aligned to it
  • Protect and preserve AICL’s nature as a people-centric organisation, and as a workplace that celebrates intelligence, creativity, talent and hard work
  • Build and operationalise an HR plan that includes policies, practices, recruitment plan and performance review parameters for the
    near- and long-term
  • Be instrumental in focused hiring, as well as building a bench of relevant freelancers and contractual staff. This includes timely identification of talent gaps across teams
  • Run an effective people engagement programme
  • Build a relevant, creative and informal onboarding, orientation, training and expectation-setting programme for new hires
  • Collaborate with functional heads to understand specific aspirations and training needs of individual members, and devise training modules
  • Work on introducing technology across the HR function from talent sourcing, hiring, onboarding, training, leave management and payroll, timesheets and performance review
  • Develop and maintain administrative documentation related to HR activities, streamlining compliance, payroll, and people database
  • Be the go-to person for people issues, and act as a counselor to the team
  • Ensure harmony and uniformity across all locations for talent management, goal setting, training and performance appraisals
  • Proactive involvement in identifying gaps in talent management activities and in taking relevant actions to address them

Skills & competencies

  • Ability to look at things objectively and not emotionally, with proven capabilities in building a comprehensive HR function from the ground up
  • A track record of strategic hiring, quality relationships across the talent-sourcing industry, and a laser focus on converting high-potential candidates
  • Entrepreneurial thought process, ambitious disposition, keen appreciation of business goals and objectives, and an ability to align the HR strategy to them
  • Hands-on experience across the entire gamut of HR activities – from talent engagement and acquisition to performance management and employee engagement
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy and positive thinking. Exposure and experience to relevant technology solutions is a must

Qualifications & experience

  • Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Business Administration or Human Resources
  • At least 6-8 years of experience as a senior HR professional, preferably in a large creative outfit, handling a team of 50+ people
  • Experience in the creative services industry, knowledge of the creative process and relationships with professionals in the domain will be preferred
  • Digitally savvy professional with extensive knowledge of MS Office, and an acute sense of detail
